The limited budget forced Hooper to film for long hours seven days a week, so that he could finish as quickly as possible and reduce equipment rental costs. Hooper produced the film for less than $140,000 ($800,000 adjusted for inflation) and used a cast of relatively unknown actors drawn mainly from central Texas, where the film was shot. It is the first film of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. Although the character of Leatherface and minor story details were inspired by the crimes of murderer Ed Gein, its plot is largely fictional. The film was marketed as being based on true events to attract a wider audience and to act as a subtle commentary on the era's political climate. The film follows a group of friends who fall victim to a family of cannibals while on their way to visit an old homestead. Partain, Edwin Neal, Jim Siedow and Gunnar Hansen, who respectively portray Sally Hardesty, Franklin Hardesty, the hitchhiker, the proprietor, and Leatherface. Interesting 592 megabytes.not sure how they can fit over 600 megs from the three games into it along with cd audio of 44 khz. Ok so you set it for the native 1600 by 2000 and get a smaller riously not sure what this group who did this release where thinking. Seriously i am not sure why they didnt just make an image of the cd.place it in a virtual directory on dos box.then put the files intot he normal c directory and ran it that way.so you could have the music.just baffles me.Īlso they didnt bother oin this or gog to work on rendering.so they use dosbox's native stretch thing.of 320 by 280 graphics?!~? Probably best if people simply use eRampage to run this stuff instead. Never going to give them up!!īecasue as everyone has panies like to discontinue games.wait for long periods and re-release the same game for more money. Its why i noticed this collection missing the the fake newspaper things they had inthe box.becasue again i have the original games.still. No this is not what interplay says anywhere.i just know this because i have all the games and and most of the differing versions and know becasue well.thats just how it was.magnetic disks didnt last very well.but cd roms.lasted very well. later it was changed to the loose files you see in this compilation.īasicaly the grp file was easier when you used 3 1/2 inch disks for your expansion.but they changed it to loose files.due to the 3 1/2 inch usual having issues and also to update it to a more robust medium like a cd rom. I meantionthe p file since thats what othe original route 66 exapansion gave you. Redneck Rampage and route 66 on these compilations are just copied files from the last CD interplay made for them. It also uses a newer engine which allowed the usage of vehicles. Redneck Rampage Rides again was a sequel and a stand alone game not an expansion.released in 1998 and is in neither this version or the Gog versions. these are both with this version and the gog version. There was only one expansion for redneck rampage.suckin grits of route 66.there was also a cuss pack released for free.thats it all of these where released in 1997.
